Ricky was born July 17, 1958. He is married to Vickie (married 7-28-78) and has two sons: Stephen Richard Lee (born 10-15-83) and Bryan David Lee (born 9-25-86). Ricky was licensed to the ministry by his home church, the First Baptist Church, Ashdown, Arkansas, on April 24, 1977 and ordained to the ministry by his home church on November 27, 1983.

Ricky received his Doctor of Ministry from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary: Billy Graham School of Church Growth, Missions and Evangelism in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2000. He received his Master of Divinity from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas, in 1984. He received his Bachelor of Arts-Speech from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, in 1981. He graduated from Ashdown High School in Ashdown, Arkansas, in 1977.

Ricky’s ministry began while he was a student at Louisiana Tech. He served as Youth and Recreation Minister from June 1980 to March 1981 at Temple Baptist Church and he served as an Interim Pastor from March 1981 to August 1981 at the University Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana.

His first full time pastorate was at Malta Baptist Church in DeKalb, Texas, where he pastored from August 1984 to June 1988. He has also pastored the First Baptist Church in Prescott, Arkansas, Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Crossett, Arkansas, and the First Baptist Church in Booneville, Arkansas.

In February of 2001 Ricky began serving on the Arkansas Baptist State Convention Executive and Administrative Team as the Partnership Missions and Cooperative Program leader. He served there until becoming the Pastor of Harpeth Heights Baptist Church, Nashville, Tennessee, in August 2006.

Bro. Ricky has preached revivals in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Nebraska, and Utah. He’s been a conference speaker in Arkansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Missouri, Washington, Brazil, Bulgaria, Alabama, Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, and Maine. He has led mission trip efforts to Brazil, Bulgaria, Senegal, Jordan, Hungary, India, Washington, North Dakota, South Dakota, Arizona, Nebraska, Utah, Louisiana, and Iowa.

Ricky has also served as moderator and chairman for various associational committees, served on Arkansas Baptist Convention Long Range Planning Committee, served on the Arkansas Christian Civic Foundation Executive Board, and served as the President for the National Fellowship of State Partnership Coordinators.

Ricky was on the Arkansas All-Star football team, a member of Boy State, a member of the National Honor Society, a Cum-Laude graduate of Louisiana Tech University and on the President List. He was also a member of the All-Southland Conference All Academic Team for the Louisiana Tech University football team.

Ricky’s wife, Vickie, has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Arkansas. Vickie has led women and girls missions’ organizations, taught College and Career and Youth Sunday School classes. She has served on the Arkansas Baptists WMU Executive Board and has twice been the writer of the Dixie Jackson state mission offering study material. She has been published through the web ministry of Saddleback. She is active in choir and women’s ministry.

Vickie is a blogger for the Tennessee Baptist Convention Ministers’ Wives and for the Arkansas Baptist Ministers’ Wives.  While in Tennesee, Vickie served on several teams through the convention helping network ministers’ wives and providing encouragement for ministers and their wives who recently accepted the call to ministry.  She also has been a breakout conference leader both in Tennessee and Arkansas.  She serves on the Ministers’ Wives Team for the state of Arkansas and is helping to establish a Ministers’ Wives Fellowship for North Pulaski Association.

Stephen, a 2007 graduate of Louisiana Tech, served in the Air Force as a Security Force officer and detached from the service at the rank of Captain in August 2013.  He and his wife Robyn, also a Louisiana Tech graduate, have settled back in Arkansas with their two sons Gideon and Jude, and their dog Valkryie.  Stephen is an active reserve military person and is employed in law enforcement.  Robyn is a fitness instructor, artist and photographer.  Stephen is an ordained deacon.  He and Robyn are very active in the life of the church and to the service of the Lord.

Bryan graduated in 2010 from Arkansas State University in Sports Management.  In 2011 he married his high school sweetheart, Shannon, also an Arkansas State graduate, and they live in Bryant.  They both are active members of Indian Springs Baptist Church and have been on several missions around the world and the states.  Bryan is employed as a school teacher and coach and Shannon works with the Arkansas Dermatology Group.   They are the proud parents to Lucy and Ava (both rescue dogs).
